What we collect, and what we don't

What we collect

When you visit this site, we collect only the information needed to understand traffic patterns and improve the content:

Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
The page that referred you (e.g. a Google search result)
General location at the country or region level
Device type, browser, and screen size

We do not collect your name, email address, IP address (in a personally-identifiable way), or any other information that could be used to identify you, unless you explicitly send it to us — for example, by emailing us.

Purpose of use (利用目的). The data described above is used only to (a) measure site traffic and improve content quality, (b) respond to direct emails you send us, and (c) measure the effectiveness of affiliate links we publish. We do not use this data for any other purpose.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember information about you. This site uses cookies for the following purposes:

Strictly necessary cookies

We do not currently set any strictly necessary cookies. The site works as a static set of pages and does not require cookies to function.

Analytics cookies

If Google Analytics is active (via Google Tag Manager), it may set cookies starting with _ga or _gid to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies expire automatically (typically within 2 years) and contain no personally-identifiable information.

Affiliate tracking cookies

When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (for example ValueCommerce, Impact, A8.net, or a carrier's own program) may set a cookie on your device to attribute any subsequent sign-up to this site. These cookies are set by the affiliate partner, not by us, and are governed by the partner's own privacy policy.

How to control cookies

You can block, delete, or limit cookies through your browser settings:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Blocking all cookies may affect how some affiliate links work (the partner may not be able to credit your sign-up to this site), but the content of the site itself will continue to display normally.

Analytics and tracking tools

This site uses the following tools to measure traffic. Each of these processes data according to its own privacy policy:

Google Tag Manager (GTM)

We use Google Tag Manager (GTM-NK879C8X) to deploy and manage analytics scripts. Google Tag Manager itself does not collect personal data, but it may load other tools that do.

Google Analytics

Where Google Analytics is active, it sets cookies (see Section 02) and collects anonymized usage data — pages viewed, session duration, approximate location at city level, device type, and browser. We do not pass personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number, full IP address) to Google Analytics. Data is processed under Google's privacy practices: policies.google.com/privacy. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, install the official browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which provides built-in analytics that operate without cookies and without collecting personal data. Cloudflare's privacy practices: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

You can block any of these tools using browser extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger, or by enabling tracking protection in your browser. The site will continue to work normally.

Section 04

Affiliate links and partner programs

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for a service or buy a product, the provider may pay Pamoja Inc. a commission. This does not change the price you pay, and it does not influence our editorial recommendations — see our About page for more.

When you click an affiliate link, you are taken to the affiliate partner's website. That partner may set its own cookies on your device, log your visit, and track whether you complete a sign-up. We do not control what happens on the partner's website — please refer to each partner's privacy policy for details.

Affiliate networks and partners we may participate in include (but are not limited to): ValueCommerce (バリューコマース), A8.net, AccessTrade (アクセストレード), Impact, Awin, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, and direct partner programs operated by individual carriers and services (LINEMO, povo, Rakuten Mobile, ahamo, Mobal, Sakura Mobile, Airalo, Ubigi, Saily, Nomad, Holafly, and others).

This site complies with the Japan Premium Display Act (景品表示法) "stealth marketing" provisions in effect from October 2023: every commercial relationship is disclosed clearly in the article and in the site footer.

Section 05

Email and direct contact

If you email us at [email protected], we will receive the email address you send from and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your email with anyone.

We do not currently operate a newsletter, comments section, or user account system. If we add one in the future, this page will be updated to describe what we collect and why.

Section 06

Third-party disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer personal data to any third party except in the following limited cases:

When you click an affiliate link, the destination affiliate partner may receive technical information about your visit (referring URL, click timestamp). This is necessary for the partner to attribute any sign-up to this site.
When we use analytics tools listed in Section 03, those tools process data on our behalf under their own privacy practices.
When required by Japanese law, court order, or a legitimate request from a public authority.

We do not transfer personal data to any party for marketing purposes.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The content on this site is published for general informational purposes only. While we make reasonable efforts to keep prices, plans, and procedures accurate and up to date, mobile carrier offerings change frequently and we cannot guarantee that every detail is current at the moment you read it.

Before you sign up for any carrier or service mentioned on this site, please verify the current price, plan details, and sign-up requirements on the carrier's own website. We are not liable for any loss, charge, or inconvenience arising from outdated information, misinterpretation of our recommendations, or changes to carrier terms that occur after we publish.

This site is not customer support for any carrier and does not constitute legal, financial, tax, or telecommunications advice. Affiliate partners listed on this site are independent businesses; we do not control their products, pricing, customer service, or compliance with their own terms.

External links on this site are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any external website.

Section 08

Your rights

Under applicable privacy laws — including Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法 / APPI), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — you may have rights over personal data we hold about you. Because we deliberately collect as little personal data as possible, the practical answer to most requests is that we don't hold any data about you specifically.

That said, you may request to:

Know what personal data, if any, we hold about you (開示請求)
Have inaccurate data corrected (訂正請求)
Have your data deleted (削除請求 / right to erasure)
Opt out of having your visit measured by any of the analytics tools in Section 03
Receive a copy of any data we hold in a portable format (GDPR/UK only)
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan, 個人情報保護委員会, at ppc.go.jp)

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address you wish to inquire about. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically within two weeks.

Section 09

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Section 11

Governing law and jurisdiction

This privacy policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from this policy or your use of this site shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court (東京地方裁判所) as the court of first instance.

Where local laws of your country of residence — including the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California CCPA — provide you with additional rights, those rights are preserved and we will respond to legitimate requests under those frameworks regardless of choice of law.

Section 12

Updates to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way — for example, by adding a new analytics tool or affiliate program — we will update this page and the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
